Mission Statement
The mission of James S. Rickards High School is to prepare graduates with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to succeed at the local, state, national, and international levels. Our students will emerge as responsible, self-supporting, and productive members of society, ready to contribute meaningfully to their communities and beyond.

Thank you for your continued support. Please note these important testing reminders for the coming week:
- Please review the testing schedule with your child to ensure they are aware of the day and time of their assessment. Test locations are posted to the Canvas Global Announcements.
- Ensure your child arrives to school on time, well-rested, and has eaten a healthy breakfast.
- Students should charge and bring their school-issued Chromebook and charger.
- Remind your child to follow test instructions and do their best; encourage a calm, confident mindset.

Report Cards
Report cards for the third nine weeks were uploaded to the FOCUS Parent Portal yesterday, Wednesday, April 1. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher. If the teacher cannot resolve the issue, please contact Ms. Nathan, the guidance secretary, to arrange a parent/teacher conference.
Testing
B.E.S.T. Writing Test - April 7th and April 8th for Ninth and Tenth Grade Students. Students need to bring their school-issued, fully charged Chromebook and charger for this test.

Updated Tardy Policy
To support instructional time and student success, the school has implemented an updated Tardy Policy:
- Students must be in class before the bell each period.
- Any arrival after the bell is considered tardy.
- Six (6) tardies in nine weeks will result in a disciplinary referral.
- Additional tardies may/will lead to escalating consequences.
- Parent contact will be handled by the school.
- Parents are encouraged to reinforce punctuality and ensure students arrive at class on time each day.
